HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health programs are available to Newaygo Area Chamber of Commerce (N.A.C.C.) members through an agreement with the Muskegon Economic Growth Alliance (MEGA). To take advantage of this opportunity, N.A.C.C. members are eligible to join MEGA at a special reduced rate of $100. However, members that wish to participate must first maintain membership in N.A.C.C. Due to the size of our membership plus existing BCBS marketing segments, N.A.C.C. cannot contract directly with BCBS.
There are three types of health programs available with BCBS:
Traditional Major Medical
Blue Care Network: Participating Provider Organization (HMO)
Community Blue: Health Maintenance Organization (PPO)
Each of these program types has multiple options to provide flexibility in coverage and costs. Whether a group of one, 2 – 5, or 6 – 100, all three types of programs are available. However, there are differences in rates based on group size, industry code (SIC) and geographic area. Also, not all options are available to smaller groups. Program specifics and a rate proposal may be obtained through a BCBS certified agent.
Priority Health HMO is directly available to N.A.C.C. members. Priority Health is a regional HMO serving 13 contiguous counties in West Michigan. Similar to BCBS, Priority Health rates are based on group size and industry code (SIC). Program specifics and a rate proposal may be obtained from an agent appointed by Priority Health. AFLAC offers a comprehensive line of supplementary health and income protection insurance products. For N.A.C.C. member businesses with employees other than the owner, these products can be incorporated into a “cafeteria” (section 125) plan. Through N.A.C.C. membership, AFLAC will provide no-cost administration and IRS reporting for a premium only “cafeteria plan”. Program specifics and a rate proposal may be obtained from and agent appointed by AFLAC.

SERVICES
Baker College, in cooperation with N.A.C.C. offers all members and their employees 10% savings on tuition charges for college-credit classes.
