SPECIAL EVENT

Scott Quoss, owner and president of Van’s Sport Center in Grand Rapids, has donated 20 antique outboard motors to be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Newaygo County Museum. These motors range in age from the 1930′s through the late 1960′s. The Antique Outboard Motor Club, Inc (AOMCI) has made these arrangements and will be setting up the auction. Bob Rottier of Auction Connection will be the auctioneer and is also donating his time and talents to this effort for the Museum. Auction to start at 10:00 am Saturday the 26th.   All AOMCI chapter members, along with the general public, will have an opportunity to buy these motors during the competitive bidding process.

There will also be a test tank available for the AOMCI chapter members to test their running motors and a “How Slow Can You Go” contest. The Newaygo County Museum is a small historical museum located in Newaygo, MI, and funded by a generous grant from the Fremont Area Foundation as well as individual donors. After being closed for years, it has been recently reopened and is eager to share its wonderful artifacts with summer visitors.
